Buyers must ensure products meet regional safety standards. For the US market, verify compliance with CPSIA regarding lead content in dyes, especially if used in residential settings. For the EU, products should adhere to REACH regulations to ensure no harmful Azo dyes are used. Look for suppliers with OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certification, which guarantees the textile is free from harmful substances. Additionally, confirm the colorfastness rating (ISO 105-B02) is at least Grade 4 to prevent fading under sunlight.

For commercial use (hotels, offices), prioritize fire-retardant treatments (NFPA 701 or BS 5867 standards) and sound-absorption properties. For residential use, focus on aesthetic versatility and hanging mechanisms. Ensure the tapestry includes a reinforced rod pocket or sturdy grommets. If the tapestry is intended as a wall hanging, check if the supplier provides weighted bottom hems to ensure it hangs flat without curling.

Chinese tapestries often feature symbolic motifs like cranes, peonies, or landscapes.
