The surface should be free from oxidation, pitting, and mechanical scratches. For electronics, specify a 'Bright Annealed' finish. To prevent damage during cross-border transit, ensure the rolls are interleaved with pH-neutral paper or plastic film and packed in seaworthy wooden crates with desiccant silica gel to prevent 'green rust' (patina) caused by humidity.

Ensure the supplier complies with RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) and REACH regulations, especially if exporting to the EU or North America. For green building projects, verify if the copper has a high recycled content percentage, which can contribute to LEED certification.

Copper is a globally traded commodity with prices linked to the LME (London Metal Exchange). To mitigate risk, negotiate a 'Copper Price + Fabrication Fee' pricing model. This allows you to lock in the fabrication cost while the raw material price is adjusted based on the market spot price at the time of order confirmation.

Given the high value of copper, use secure payment methods like Letter of Credit (L/C) or trade assurance services provided by reputable platforms like Made-in-China.com. Never wire full payments to personal accounts. Conduct a third-party pre-shipment inspection (e.g., SGS or Intertek) to verify the weight and purity before the final balance is paid.
