The atomization effect is the most critical performance metric. You should specify a fine mist sprayer with a consistent dosage (typically 0.05ml to 0.15ml per pump). Check for leak-proof designs featuring a high-quality PE gasket or silicone liner inside the cap. The dip tube length must be customized to the bottle height to ensure no liquid is wasted at the bottom.

To differentiate your brand, consider electroplating, frosting, silk-screen printing, or hot stamping. If using UV coating, ensure it is alcohol-resistant, as perfume spills can dissolve low-quality finishes. For luxury markets, hand-polishing the glass provides a crystal-like clarity that machine-polished bottles cannot match.

Suppliers should provide FDA or EC 1935/2004 certifications if the bottles are intended for cosmetic use. For shipments to the US, compliance with California Proposition 65 regarding heavy metal content is essential. Additionally, if the bottles include specialized caps (like magnetic caps), ensure they meet REACH standards for chemical safety in the EU.

Glass is fragile, so you must mandate five-layer corrugated export cartons with individual egg-crate dividers or foam inserts. For bulk orders, insist on palletization with shrink wrap to prevent shifting. It is highly recommended to include a 1-2% breakage allowance in the contract or request the supplier to provide extra units (over-shipment) to cover potential transit damage.

Focus on mold ownership and exclusivity. If you are developing a custom shape, clarify who owns the physical mold and ensure the supplier cannot sell your design to other buyers. For pricing, leverage volume-based scaling; glass production is energy-intensive, so larger production runs (e.g., 20,000+ units) significantly lower the unit cost compared to small batches.

Prioritize Audited Suppliers who have undergone on-site inspections by third-party agencies like SGS or TÜV Rheinland. Review their Business Audit Report specifically for their production capacity and quality control processes. Request a pre-shipment inspection (PSI) to verify that the vacuum leak test and spray cycle test (usually 300+ actuations) have been performed.

Empty bottles are generally classified under HS Code 7010.90. While the bottles themselves are not hazardous, the packaging materials (like wooden pallets) must be ISPM 15 heat-treated to pass customs. Ensure the Commercial Invoice clearly states 'Empty' to avoid being flagged for liquid transport regulations which are much stricter.
