A professional-grade gasket should withstand at least 200,000 to 300,000 opening/closing cycles without cracking. It must maintain flexibility at low temperatures (down to -30°C) to prevent becoming brittle. Look for anti-fungal and anti-bacterial additives in the PVC compound to prevent mold growth in the folds, which is a common failure point in humid environments.

The corners must be 90-degree heat-welded rather than glued. A high-quality weld should be smooth, burr-free, and maintain the same thickness as the rest of the gasket to ensure the magnetic strip can slide freely and provide a continuous seal at the corners.

Gaskets are highly susceptible to permanent deformation if folded or compressed. Insist that the supplier uses flat-packing in reinforced cartons or large-diameter coils with protective padding. For bulk orders, wooden crate reinforcement is recommended to prevent heavy items from being stacked on top of the gaskets during sea freight.

Focus on tooling costs and sample validation. If you require a custom profile, negotiate a refund of the mold fee once a certain order volume (e.g., 5,000 meters) is reached. Always request a pre-production sample and test it for magnetic pull force and compression set before authorizing mass production.

Prioritize suppliers on Made-in-China.com that hold ISO 9001 certification and have Audited Supplier status. Check if they have experience supplying OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers), as this indicates a higher level of quality control and consistency in their extrusion process.

Use Secured Trading Services provided by the platform to ensure payment is only released after the Bill of Lading (B/L) is uploaded or a third-party inspection (like SGS or Intertek) confirms the goods meet the technical specs.
