UL2596 Ed2 (Torch and Grit / TaG). It also meets GMW18435 for automotive material screening, used to evaluate thermal runaway protection performance of EV battery enclosure and thermal barrier sheets.

Q:What is the difference between TaG test and regular battery external fire test?

Conventional external fire test only applies simple flame exposure. TaG test couples 3kW high-temperature flame with alumina grit jet, combining thermal erosion and particle impingement. It simulates high-temperature particle ejection during cell thermal runaway and scouring on battery enclosure, reflecting real failure mechanism more accurately.

Q:Do I need a complete battery pack for testing? What is the specimen size?

No full battery assembly required. Sheet panels are used directly. Standard specimen dimension is 200mm*200mm. Specimen testing greatly reduces material cost and shortens R&D cycle, ideal for material formulation screening.

Q:Does the equipment have safety protection functions?

Equipped with automatic flame baffle, spark igniter and gas safety interlock system. Open structure plus smoke hood discharges flue gas uniformly to protect operators.
