Q:What is banding?
A:
Banding is a packing method. A banding tape is wrapped around a product and sealed with heat. No glue is used. The tape holds products together and can carry a printed design.
Q:What is the difference between banding, shrink wrap and strapping?
A:
Shrink wrap covers the whole product with plastic film and needs heat to shrink it. It uses more material and more energy. Strapping uses strong plastic straps for heavy loads, but the straps can press marks into soft product boxes. Banding wraps only one tape around the product, so it uses less material and less energy. The banded product is easier to open, and the surface stays clean and undamaged.
