Nylon (PA) provides superior mechanical strength, better high-temperature performance, and strong resistance to UV radiation and outdoor weathering compared to standard ABS. It also offers excellent signal transmission properties essential for GPS and GNSS antennas.
Q:How do you embed the brass threaded inserts shown on the back?
A:
We typically use heat staking or ultrasonic insertion methods after the main nylon shell is molded via our single-color injection machines. This ensures a high pull-out strength for the screws and prevents damage to the plastic.
Q:Can this enclosure withstand heavy rain and automotive washing?
A:
Yes. When assembled properly with the central O-ring seal and tightened via the brass inserts, the enclosure is designed to achieve IP67/IP68 standards, easily withstanding heavy rain, splashing, and automotive high-pressure washes.
Q:Do you offer custom printing on the metal base plate (e.g., changing the DC2.7~16V text)?
A:
Absolutely. The metal plate details can be fully customized using laser engraving or silk-screen printing to display your specific voltage parameters, frequency bands, part numbers, or company logo.
Q:What is the lead time for producing a custom batch of these active antenna covers?
A:
For new designs, tooling for the single-color nylon mold takes approximately 25-30 days. After you approve the T1 samples, standard mass production takes around 15-20 days depending on the assembly requirements (inserts and connectors).
