The back side of the hydraulic elevator dam is supported by two hydraulic cylinders at a small Angle, powered by the hydraulic station, and the hydraulic oil is used as the medium to make the cylinder rod of the hydraulic cylinder move, so as to realize blocking and discharging flood. The lifting time of single gate is about 1min/m, and the lowering time can be adjusted in 30s-30min. The hydraulic elevator dam can achieve arbitrary dam high water retention.

The hydraulic elevator dam is able to withstand severe mud and sand sedimentation. It was specially designed for this purpose. The hydraulic dam may be adjusted up to a vertical angle of 75 degrees.
