Rubber Ring Shock Absorbing Conveyor Impact Idler

A rubber lagged idler roller is a conveyor idler covered with a rubber layer on its steel shell. It is essential for applications requiring extra traction and belt protection. The rubber layer increases friction between the belt and the roller, prevents slippage, absorbs impact from falling materials, and reduces metal-to-metal wear. It is especially recommended for inclined conveyors, wet or oily environments, and heavy-duty mining operations.

We use hot vulcanization technology to bond the rubber layer to the steel shell. Our bonding strength reaches a minimum of 6.0 MPa, which far exceeds industry standards. Each roller undergoes a 100 percent peel test and visual inspection before shipment to ensure the rubber layer is firmly attached and will not separate during operation. We provide test reports with every order.

We offer various rubber materials to suit different working conditions: Natural Rubber (general purpose), NBR (oil resistant), EPDM (high temperature resistant up to 120 degrees Celsius), and Neoprene (weather and ozone resistant). Surface patterns include Herringbone, Diamond, Smooth Surface, and Flat with Grooves. All materials and patterns are customizable based on your specific requirements.

Under normal operating conditions, the rubber layer can last 12 to 24 months depending on material type, belt speed, and working environment. The steel base roller itself has a service life of 30,000 to 50,000 hours. Regular visual inspections every 3 to 6 months are recommended to check rubber wear, cracks, or any signs of peeling. When the rubber layer is worn down, the roller can often be re-lagged and reused.

Yes, we fully support customization. Rubber hardness can be tailored from 50 to 75 Shore A to match your application, and rubber thickness ranges from 6 mm to 12 mm or as required.
