The "U" stands for Universal Power over Ethernet (UPoE). This model supports up to 60W per port (and up to 90W with UPOE+), making it ideal for powering high-demand devices such as Wi-Fi 6/6E access points, PTZ cameras, digital signage, and thin clients directly over standard Ethernet cables without the need for separate power adapters
Q:Can I stack this switch with other Catalyst 9300 models?
A:
Yes, the C9300-24U-E supports Cisco StackWise-480 technology with up to 480 Gbps of stacking bandwidth. You can stack up to 8 switches into a single logical unit for simplified management and high resiliency. However, note that it can only stack with other C9300 modular uplink models (non-"L" models). It is NOT compatible with C9300L series or older Catalyst 3850/3650 switches
Q:What is the PoE power budget and what license is included?
A:
The default PoE power budget is 830W with the included 1100W AC power supply. If you install a second 1100W power supply for redundancy, the total PoE budget increases to 1440W. This model comes pre-installed with the Network Essentials license, which provides core Layer 2 and Layer 3 features including static routing, OSPF routed access, QoS, and basic security
