Q:What is the difference between monocomponent and bicomponent short cut fiber?

Monocomponent fiber is made of a single uniform polyester material throughout the cross-section, with consistent physical and chemical properties. Bicomponent (sheath-core) fiber has two different polymers, typically used for thermal bonding. This monocomponent FR fiber is designed for wet laid processes and permanent flame retardant performance, not for thermal bonding.

Yes, it adopts intrinsic copolymerization flame retardant technology, not surface coating. The flame retardant components are part of the polymer molecular chain, so they will not leach out or wash off during wet processing, washing or solvent contact, maintaining permanent fire resistance.
