The CVC-20A is a 2-in-1 design: the compact handheld unit works standalone for cars, furniture and small areas, and attaches to the included extension wand to become a stick vacuum for whole rooms, floors and carpets. No - the CVC-20A is designed for dry cleaning only: dust, crumbs, pet hair and dry debris on floors, carpets, upholstery, keyboards and car interiors. It is not a wet-and-dry vacuum. The washable filter element can be rinsed and air-dried between uses, but the machine must never run while the filter is wet.
