SDS-Plus is a standardized chuck system for hammer drills and rotary hammers. It uses a grooved shank that the chuck grips with metal springs, so the bit stays locked under heavy impact while still allowing a slight sliding stroke. The CH-20A takes SDS-Plus keyless drill bits and SDS-Plus chisels - the most common and widely available system - so you can use standard SDS-Plus drilling and chiseling bits.

The single knob selects three modes: (1) Drill - rotation only, for drilling into wood, metal and plastic or fastening; (2) Drill & Hammer - rotation plus impact, for drilling holes in masonry and concrete; (3) Hammer - high-impact chiseling for splitting, breaking and chasing grooves. Some accessories also allow a chiseling angle adjustment for different chisel work.

The CH-20A is built for concrete, masonry, stone and brick - drilling holes and chiseling. The 850W brushless motor and 3.6J impact make it fast in these hard materials.
