Q:Can ProtecMBC1563 be used for seawater desalination systems?
A:
Yes. It is an oxidizing biocide for seawater RO pretreatment, killing microbes and stripping bio-slime. Must neutralize residual oxidant with ProtecMBC1570 / 1571 before RO membrane vessels.
Q:What is the recommended dosing for seawater pretreatment?
A:
Add continuously in pretreatment section at 30-50 ppm. Keep residual bro-mine within 0.1-0.3 mg/L. Residual oxidant must be eliminated ahead of RO membranes.
Q:Can this biocide be injected directly to RO membrane chambers?
A:
No. Direct contact will oxidize and damage polyamide RO membranes. Always apply reductant prior to membrane elements.
Q:What environmental merits does this biocide have?
A:
Non-volatile and odor-free, readily biodegradable. Normal application meets coastal desalination discharge requirements.
Q:Packaging and storage requirements?
A:
Standard 25 kg plastic drum, custom-available. Store at room temperature away from light; separate from acids and reducing agents. Shelf life: six months.
