Q:Why is a reducer needed in an RO system?

To inhibit bacterial growth, systems often use oxidizing biocides with high biocidal capacity. Residual chl-orine from these oxidizers can cause irreversible oxidative damage to many composite membranes and shorten membrane service life. A reducer removes this oxidizing potential.

Q:How is the dosage determined?

The dosing point is best set before the mixer or security filter to achieve the best reducing effect.

Q:What material should the dosing equipment be?

Stainless steel, polyethylene, PVC or polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) is recommended. Carbon steel is not recommended.

Q:How should it be stored?

It is a strong reducing agent and must be stored separately from oxidizers and acids. Do not mix storage with these substances.
