Rayon-based felt has a finer fiber structure and is often selected for high-purity or semiconductor applications. Pitch-based felt provides excellent thermal stability for the highest-temperature duty. The right choice depends on your target temperature, purity requirement, and furnace layout.
Q:What thickness should I use for vacuum furnace insulation?
A:
Insulation thickness depends on furnace size, target hot-zone temperature, and heat-loss budget. Typical felt layers range from a few millimeters to several centimeters, built up in multiple wraps or boards.
