Soft Rayon Based Graphite Felt for Crystal Growth / High Temperature Furnace

Soft graphite felt is a flexible, needle-punched mat that can be wrapped, layered, or cut to fit complex hot-zone shapes. Rigid graphite felt is produced by curing and densifying soft felt, giving it structural strength and shape stability at high temperature. Soft felt suits lining and wrapping; rigid felt suits load-bearing insulation boards, cylinders, and fixed furnace components.

PAN-based felt offers good mechanical strength and is widely used in vacuum and inert-atmosphere furnaces. Rayon-based felt has a finer fiber structure and is often selected for high-purity or semiconductor applications. Pitch-based felt provides excellent thermal stability for the highest-temperature duty. The right choice depends on your target temperature, purity requirement, and furnace layout.

Insulation thickness depends on furnace size, target hot-zone temperature, and heat-loss budget. Typical felt layers range from a few millimeters to several centimeters, built up in multiple wraps or boards. Graphite felt grades processed at 2200 celsuis degree or above are rated for continuous use up to approximately 2500 to 3000 celsuis degree in vacuum or inert atmosphere, depending on grade and furnace conditions. The actual limit also depends on atmosphere, thermal cycle profile, and mechanical load. Confirm the rated temperature for your specific grade before ordering.
