High speed vertical mixing typically reaches uniformity in 3 to 8 minutes for free flowing seasoning powder versus 20 to 30 minutes in a ribbon blender. The high speed impeller breaks up moisture induced clumps mechanically during the mixing cycle. The sealed lid also reduces ambient moisture ingress during the batch compared to an open top ribbon blender trough.

Yes. The high speed impeller disperses liquid droplets across the powder mass within the first few revolutions, preventing local saturation that causes wet spots and clumps in slow mixers. For 3 percent liquid addition, spray the liquid through the bowl inlet port over the first 30 seconds of the mix cycle while the impeller runs at full speed to ensure even distribution before the liquid is fully absorbed.

The sealed lid design contains liquid spray within the bowl during high speed operation. The inlet port for liquid addition is fitted with a spray nozzle or liquid addition tube that directs binder solution into the bowl without breaking the seal. Motor and control panel are positioned outside the sealed zone. Specify the liquid addition port configuration at order stage so we fit the correct nozzle size for your binder flow rate.

For 300 kg batches specify the VGH 800, which covers 400 kg per batch at 33 kW and provides motor headroom for dense chemical powder. Contact us with your material bulk density and we will confirm the correct model and advise on impeller speed setting for your specific powder.

Rinse the bowl and impeller with water, wipe all stainless steel contact surfaces with food approved sanitizing solution, rinse again with clean water and run the impeller at low speed for 30 seconds to confirm the bowl is dry and residue free.
