The sprayer nozzle directs liquid into the tumbling material stream rather than onto the stationary barrel surface. The guard plate continuously lifts and redistributes the pellet mass so no layer stays at the bottom long enough for pooling to occur. For viscous liquids such as molasses, we recommend a heating jacket on the liquid delivery line to reduce viscosity before the nozzle. Specify your liquid viscosity and target addition rate at order and we size the nozzle and pump accordingly.

The drum mixer runs at slow rotation speed through the reducer and gear drive, generating surface velocity significantly lower than the tip speed of a ribbon blender agitator. Material moves by gravity tumbling rather than mechanical paddle impact, which is why drum mixers are specified for fragile coated granule, effervescent tablet premix and surface treated particle where ribbon contact causes breakage and fines generation.

Yes. The PLC interfaces with upstream screw conveyor start and stop signals and downstream weighing hopper ready signals. Auto feeding activates the conveyor inlet, monitors fill level or timed fill, closes the inlet on completion and starts the mix cycle automatically. Auto discharge opens the discharge door on cycle end, confirms the downstream hopper is ready and closes the door after discharge completes. Custom barrel volumes beyond the five standard models require 45 to 60 days lead time after drawing confirmation and order placement. We supply a foundation load specification and anchor bolt pattern drawing for your structural engineer to confirm floor slab capacity before installation. The drum ships in sections with a factory assembly drawing, and installation supervision is available on request.

The sprayer system uses stainless steel wetted parts compatible with both water based and oil based liquid. Nozzle orifice size is selected at order stage based on liquid viscosity and target flow rate. For oil based additives above 500 centipoise, we recommend a heated delivery line and wider orifice nozzle to prevent cold weather viscosity blockage. A filter strainer in the liquid feed line is supplied as standard to protect the nozzle from particle contamination.
