We offer standard metric, imperial, and NPT threads, and can also custom-machine special thread profiles, pitches, and directions per your drawings. Virgin PTFE has excellent machinability, allowing complex thread structures for non-standard assembly needs.
Q:How strong is a virgin PTFE fastener? What tightening torque can it withstand?
A:
Virgin PTFE has lower mechanical strength than metal and is not suitable for high preload or heavy-load connections. Low-torque manual tightening is recommended, mainly for corrosion resistance, insulation, or light-duty sealing. For higher strength, glass fiber or carbon fiber filled versions are available, but filled products are not FDA-compliant.
