Customized Size One Side Sodium Treated PTFE Sheet for Anti-Corrosion Composite Lining

Sodium treatment chemically etches the PTFE surface to introduce polar groups, making it bondable. One-side treatment activates only one face, while the other retains its original non-stick, non-wetting properties. Double-side treatment makes both faces bondable for sandwich structures. This product is designed for composite lining, where only one face needs to bond to the substrate while the other contacts corrosive media.

Composite lining typically requires bonding one face of the PTFE sheet to the steel equipment wall, leaving the other face exposed to corrosive media. One-side treatment ensures bond strength while preserving the excellent non-stick and chemical inertness of the untreated face. It also avoids potential surface contamination risks from double-side treatment and is more cost-effective.

Yes. The untreated face is 100% virgin PTFE, resisting almost all strong acids, bases, and organic solvents with no extractables and no media contamination. Sodium treatment only modifies a few microns of the surface chemistry and does not affect the bulk material's corrosion resistance.

The sodium-treated face forms strong chemical bonds with epoxy, polyurethane, and acrylic adhesives, typically achieving shear strengths above 10 MPa. We recommend a chemical-resistant two-component epoxy adhesive, following the manufacturer's instructions for surface cleaning, application, and curing.

It is widely used for anti-corrosion lining in chemical reactors, storage tanks, pipes, valves, pump housings, scrubbers, and wastewater treatment equipment. It is also suitable for bonding PTFE sheets to metal, rubber, or FRP substrates for long-term corrosion protection.
