Absolutely. PEEK is often used to replace metal components in automotive and aerospace industries due to its excellent strength-to-weight ratio and corrosion resistance. However, note that PEEK's coefficient of linear thermal expansion differs from metal. When designing replacement parts, you need to consider the part's wall thickness, assembly tolerances, and operating temperature. PEEK has excellent chemical resistance. At room temperature, apart from a few highly oxidizing acids like concentrated sulfuric acid, it resists most organic and inorganic chemicals, including common acids, bases, salts, ketones, and esters. However, when in contact with strong acids at high temperatures, we recommend providing specific media information so our engineers can conduct further evaluation.

Our offered pure resin PEEK-1000 (natural/beige-gray) series features raw material composition that complies with the US FDA (Food and Drug Administration) specifications for food contact. It can also be sterilized using various methods like steam, ethanol, and gamma rays, making it ideal for food processing and medical device fields.

For applications requiring high wear resistance and self-lubrication, such as bearings, seals, and wear rings, we strongly recommend the PEEK-HPV (black) or PEEK-CA30 (black) grades. PEEK-HPV is internally filled with PTFE, graphite, and carbon fiber, offering an extremely low friction coefficient, making it a specialized bearing-grade material.
