Pure PTFE resists almost all strong acids, strong bases, organic solvents, and oxidizing media, except molten alkali metals and elemental fluor. Filled versions' chemical resistance depends on the filler, typically suitable for oils, water, and hydrocarbons, but strong oxidizing acids should be avoided. Provide your specific media for compatibility confirmation.

Pure PTFE tends to cold flow under sustained pressure. If pure PTFE must be used, reduce continuous pressure, increase support area, or apply annealing. If non-FDA filled versions are acceptable, carbon fiber or glass fiber filling significantly reduces compression set and maintains locating accuracy.

Pure PTFE versions come with FDA compliance statements, MSDS, ROHS, and REACH documents, suitable for food, pharmaceutical, and potable water contact.
