MoS2 offers extremely low friction and anti-galling properties, ideal for vacuum or boundary lubrication. Bronze enhances thermal conductivity and compressive strength for heavy loads. The fillers give PTFE excellent self-lubrication, with friction coefficients as low as 0.05-0.15 (depending on filler). Most sliding applications require no external lubrication. However, at very high speeds or extreme loads, a small amount of grease may be added initially to reduce run-in time, but long-term dry running is still feasible.

The PTFE matrix resists almost all strong acids, strong alkalis, and organic solvents. MoS2, graphite, and carbon are stable in most media; bronze may be attacked by strong oxidizing acids, but it is fully compatible with common industrial oils, water, mild acids, and alkalis. For highly corrosive media, MoS2 or graphite filled grades are recommended.

Under the same PV value, wear volume can be reduced by 70%-90%, with wear resistance improved by 3 to 10 times (depending on filler type and content), greatly extending replacement intervals of sliding components and reducing maintenance downtime.
