The pure PTFE version complies with FDA 21 CFR 177.1550 for food contact and can be supplied with MSDS, ROHS, and REACH documents. Filled versions (e.g., glass fiber, carbon fiber) are not FDA-compliant and are for industrial use only, though MSDS, ROHS, and REACH can be provided.

It is typically slid on or embedded, secured by interference fit or flange compression. For anti-rotation or retention, grooves, flanges, or mechanical fasteners can be designed. We do not recommend standard adhesives as they may affect insulation; if bonding is needed, use insulation-grade adhesive.

Pure PTFE has a very low friction coefficient (about 0.04-0.1) and is self-lubricating, suitable for rotating and reciprocating motion. However, pure PTFE has moderate wear resistance. For long-term high-load operation, adding glass fiber, carbon fiber, or bronze fillers can significantly improve wear resistance, though insulation performance may decrease.
