Q:Can this PTFE rod be filled for reinforcement? How do fillers affect performance?
A:
Yes, fillers such as carbon fiber, glass fiber, graphite, molybdenum disulfide, and bronze can be added. Carbon fiber improves creep resistance and rigidity; glass fiber boosts strength; graphite and MoS2 reduce friction; bronze enhances heat dissipation. Fillers reduce purity and some chemical resistance, and are not FDA-compliant, intended for industrial use only.

Pure PTFE is extremely chemically inert, virtually unaffected by strong acids, bases, salt solutions, and organic solvents. It does not absorb water or swell. In chemical valves, it resists long-term media corrosion, preventing seal failure or component degradation - especially suitable for chlorides and hypochlorites that cause pitting in metals.

Very easy. PTFE rod offers excellent machinability for turning, milling, drilling, tapping, and slotting, with dimensional stability and minimal deformation. We accept PDF/CAD 2D drawings and IGES/STEP 3D models, machining precision parts and delivering finished components directly.
Q:Under long-term compression in chemical valves, will pure PTFE cold flow? How can creep resistance be improved?
A:
Pure PTFE tends to cold flow under sustained pressure. If pure PTFE must be used, structural design can reduce continuous pressure or add support. If non-pure filled grades are acceptable, carbon fiber or glass fiber filling significantly reduces compression set and improves creep resistance, maintaining sealing force.
