Compression molding provides lower internal stress, better isotropy, and superior thickness uniformity compared to extruded sheets. It is especially suitable for gaskets, linings, and insulating parts that require high flatness and greater thickness, reducing warpage and deformation risks.

PTFE is chemically inert to almost all common chemicals, including concentrated sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid, nitric acid, aqua regia, sodium hydroxide, and most organic solvents. The only exceptions are molten alkali metals, fluorine gas at high temperature, and certain super-strong oxidizers (e.g., chlorine trifluoride), which will attack PTFE.
