Q:What is the flame-retardant mechanism of APP?
A:
When APP is exposed to fire or heat, it decomposes to produce polyphosphoric acid and ammonia. The polyphosphoric acid reacts with hydroxyl groups in the substrate to form an unstable phosphate ester, which then dehydrates to build a carbon foam layer on the material surface. This carbon foam layer acts as a thermal and oxygen barrier, effectively preventing flame spread.
Q:How should the app choose models for different application areas?
A:
According to the TDS application recommendations: for intumescent fire-retardant coatings, select APP, APP-M, or APP-MF; for textile back coating, select APP-M, APP-S, or APP-E; for PU foam, select APP or APP-M; for thermosetting resins, select APP, APP-S, or APP-E; for polyolefin rubbers, select APP-M or APP-MF. Selection should be based on comprehensive evaluation of indicators such as water solubility, viscosity, and nitrogen content.
Q:Are there any special requirements for storing and transporting the app?
A:
APP should be stored in a cool, dry, and shaded place with containers kept tightly closed. It is packed in paper-polymer outer bags with PE inner bags, 25 kg per bag. For transportation, APP is classified as Non-Hazardous for Transport, meaning it can be shipped by sea, air, and land as general cargo without requiring special hazardous material transportation credentials.
