The Type III plate features a three-dimensional pre-contoured design that perfectly matches the lateral wall of the calcaneus, eliminating the need for intraoperative bending. The multi-directional locking head provides superior support for collapsed articular surface fragments, which is not possible with traditional straight plates.

It is especially suitable for unstable intra-articular calcaneal fractures (Sanders type II-IV) with articular surface collapse, as well as comminuted fractures combined with tuberosity involvement. The multi-directional screws can effectively reduce articular step-off and restore the calcaneal height.

The low-profile design is specifically shaped to avoid the most vulnerable areas of the lateral foot skin, significantly reducing the risk of wound dehiscence and infection. The smooth, rounded edges also minimize soft tissue irritation.
