A custom fixture is usually designed around one specific part. A quick change fixture is still custom, but it is designed around a part family so that related models can be switched faster through inserts, adjustable locating, or swap units.

The actual changeover time depends on how different the part variants are and which quick change concept is selected. The goal is to reduce fixture reset work significantly compared with a full fixture replacement, and we verify the practical timing during testing.

In many projects, yes. If the part family is well defined, one machine can support multiple related models through quick change tooling, while power and process settings are adjusted by model requirements. We review this during the engineering phase.

Ideally, yes-or at least the main variants that define the size range, weld routes, and port positions of the family. That gives our engineers a more reliable basis for deciding whether a shared base with inserts or a different quick change concept is the better fit.

It can be, but it is especially valuable in high-mix small-batch or medium-batch production where model switching happens often. For a single very high-volume part, a dedicated one-model fixture may still be the better choice.
