The plant based straws are intended for cold beverages but depending on the temperature we have used them in hot beverages before. If you have a very hot drink, this would not be the best straw, our bamboo straws, wheat straws, paper straws, bamboo fiber straw, reed straws would be a better choice.

Q:Can these be composted at home or do they need to go to a facility?

We recommend commercially composting if possible as PLA will break down in 6 months in a commercial facility. Home composting or other forms of disposal likely will take longer than at a commercial facility. They are EU certified for home composting.
