As1-X Double-Grip Packer

A: It is a retrievable tension-set mechanical packer mainly designed for water injection (waterflood) wells. It also fits shallow well fracturing, low-pressure oil production, well testing & stimulation treatments, especially ideal for shallow wells without enough weight to run compression set packers.

A: Setting: Run to target depth, left rotate tubing 1/4 turn at tool, then lift tubing with tension to anchor slips & compress rubber element. Normal Release: Slack tubing at least 1ft to remove tension, right rotate tubing 1/4 turn, slips retract, packer can be pulled out or reset at new depth via J-slot control mechanism.

A: Two backup release solutions besides normal rotation release: Shear ring release: Apply 25,000-50,000 lbs upward tension to shear the ring, separate sealing assembly for retrieval. Safety joint release: Pull 10,000 lbs tension + right rotate tubing over 20 turns to unscrew left-hand safety thread, pull out upper tubing sub first, then fish remaining parts with overshot tools.

A: It is designed to hold pressure from below, not recommended for deep high-pressure wells with heavy downhole compression load. It is not fit for high-temperature wells over 300DEG without customized high-heat rubber elements, and not suitable for deviated horizontal wells with severe casing scaling & deformation that may block slips anchoring.
