Accumulators are used in fluid power systems to store energy , absorb shock, and maintain system pressure.
The compressibility of gas (nitrogen) is utilized in hydro-pneumatic accumulator for storing fluids.
The bladder accumulator consists of a fluid section and a gas section with the bladder action as a gas-proof screen.
The fluid around bladder is connected with the hydraulic circuit, so that the bladder accumulator draws in fluid when pressure increases and the gas is compressed.
When the pressure drops, the compressed gas expands and forces the stored fluid into the circuit.
