Q:What kinds of oilfield pipes fit this elevator?
A:
A: It works for drill pipes, regular tubing, casing and ESP pipe strings for drilling, workover and completion. Do not use it for deformed pipes or joints with abnormal upsets.
Q:Can this elevator handle pipes smaller than 3 1/2" or larger than 5 7/8"?
A:
The standard model only covers 3 1/2"-5 7/8". Choose HYT/YT series for smaller pipes. Custom slips or heavy-duty elevators are required for oversized pipes.
Q:How often should inspection and load test be conducted?
A:
Magnetic particle inspection is required every six months per A-P-I standards. Immediate inspection is mandatory after overload lifting or heavy collision. The elevator cannot be used if it fails tests.
Q:How to fix stiff opening/closing in cold winter?
A:
Clear dirt and rust on latches and slip grooves, then apply low-temperature grease. Do not force open by hammering. Replace cold-resistant springs if original springs freeze and malfunction.
Q:Is it acceptable to replace only one worn slip?
A:
Not recommended. All four slips must be replaced as a complete set. Mixed old and new slips cause uneven force and slipping. Replace the full set if wear depth exceeds 1.5 mm.
