Flexographic (flexo) printer consists of multiple wheels that work in unison to pick up ink from an ink reservoir, deliver the ink to a printing die or plate, and roll the ink onto the material being marked.

Technically, offset printing can refer to any printing technique that uses a printing plate to transfer an image to an intermediate carrier and then onto the printed substrate. Whereas flexo transfers ink from the plate directly to the substrate.

Originally, flexo plates were made from rubber, but are today made from photopolymer material in sheet form - which differentiates them from the fixed metallic printing plates of offset printing. The plates are flexible enough to be wrapped around cylindrical print/plate rollers

Water-based printing features inks that are soft, breathable and able to soak into the fabric of the garment, rather than sitting on top. When water based printing is done correctly, they result in crisp, bright prints that you can't feel to the touch!

While plastisol tends to last for a hundred washes and then begin to fade, crinkle, and even chip off the garment (think of a really old t-shirt you might have) - water based inks can actually last much longer. This is because water based inks can actually become part of the garment.
