Product Q&A

Q:Why could the silicone mold be reused only for a few times?
A:
Reasons include adding too much silicone oil which destroys molecular weight, adding too much catalyst (more than 2% for tin cure) which reduces tension, or using wrong hardness for the design type.
Q:Why does the silicone mold get burnt out?
A:
This happens when using unsaturated resin without demolding within 3 minutes, as the resin produces great heat. Our rubber includes special materials to resist high temperatures.
Q:Why does the silicone mould appear to be dry outside but wet inside?
A:
Condensation silicone rubber solidifies by absorbing moisture. To fix this, add 0.05% water and stir briefly at low speed before use.
Q:Why is the tear strength of silicone molds weak?
A:
Weak tear strength is caused by adding too much silicone oil, adding too much catalyst (recommend max 5%, ideally 2%), or using the mold prematurely before 24 hours.
Q:Why does the mold silicone have poor tension?
A:
Adding large amounts of silicone oil to reduce viscosity makes the rubber too soft, resulting in poor tensile strength and short service life.
