Q:Why can a silicone mold be reused only for a few times?
A:
Common reasons include adding too much silicone oil which destroys molecular weight, adding too much catalyst (more than 2% for tin catalyst) which reduces tension, or using the wrong hardness for the product size.
Q:Why does the silicone mold get burnt out?
A:
This occurs when using unsaturated resin materials that generate great heat. You must demould the product within 3 minutes. Our rubber includes special materials to resist high temperatures.
Q:Why does the silicone mould appear dry outside but wet inside?
A:
Condensation silicone rubber solidifies by absorbing moisture. To fix this, add 0.05% water into the rubber and stir briefly at low speed when using.
Q:Why is the tear strength of silicone molds weak?
A:
Weakness is caused by adding too much silicone oil, adding too much catalyst (recommended max 5%, ideally 2%), or using the mold prematurely before 24 hours.
Q:Why does the mold silicone have poor tension?
A:
Adding large amounts of silicone oil to reduce viscosity makes the rubber too soft, resulting in poor tensile strength, short service life, and fewer mold turnovers.
