Q:My printed PLA models warp easily, how can I solve this?
A:
1Adjust the heated bed temperature to 55 to 65 C.
2Apply masking tape or special adhesive sheet on the print bed to improve bottom adhesion.
3Reduce the printing speed of the first layer and set a thicker first layer height to let the base stick firmly to the platform.
Q:How should I store PLA filament? Does PLA absorb moisture easily?
A:
PLA absorbs far less moisture than materials like ABS and Nylon. However, prolonged exposure to humid air will still lead to popping and bubbling during printing. Keep the filament sealed with desiccant in a dark dry place. If dampness occurs, dry the filament at 40 to 50 C for 4 to 6 hours before printing.
Q:What's the difference between standard PLA and PLA+? Can I use the same print settings for both?
A:
Regular PLA is the basic material, while PLA+ is a reinforced modified version. PLA+ delivers higher toughness, less brittleness and stronger interlayer bonding after printing. Their basic printing parameters are interchangeable (nozzle: 200 to 230 C, heated bed: 45 to 65 C). For large intricate prints with PLA+, you may raise the nozzle temperature moderately to gain better layer adhesion.
