Use 3% foam for standard flammable liquids (e.g., gasoline, diesel) that need basic smothering. Opt for 6% foam for thicker, high-risk fuels (e.g., heavy oils, industrial solvents) that require a higher concentrate ratio to extinguish effectively.

Foam is less dense than water, so it has lower jet momentum-this reduces its range. The tradeoff: foam's thick, expansive blanket is far more effective at smothering flammable liquid fires (water alone cannot block oxygen for these fuels).

Use the manual selector (on the monitor/nozzle): Connect a foam concentrate supply line to the monitor's foam inlet. Flip the selector to 'foam' (to activate foam mixing) or 'water' (to use only water).
