Q:What are laminated neodymium magnets?
A:
Laminated neodymium magnets are composed of multiple thin NdFeB slices bonded together with high-temperature insulating glue. Each slice is electrically isolated to block eddy current loops, specially designed for high-speed alternating magnetic field motors.
Q:What is the difference between solid NdFeB and laminated NdFeB magnets?
A:
Solid monolithic magnets produce huge eddy currents and severe heat under high rotation speed, easy to suffer irreversible demagnetization. Laminated magnets cut eddy loss by 60% to 90%, much lower temperature rise, higher motor efficiency and longer service life. The only downside is higher processing cost.
Q:How thin can you make each magnet slice?
A:
Standard slice thickness range: 0.5mm ~ 3.0mm. Thinner slices bring better eddy suppression effect, but higher production difficulty and cost. We support customized thickness as customer requirements.
Q:How thick is the insulation layer between slices?
A:
Our insulation glue layer is controlled within 20 and 30 microns, ultra-thin to avoid wasting magnetic space while maintaining stable insulation resistance.
Q:Will laminated magnets delaminate or separate under high-speed rotation?
A:
No. We adopt high-pressure hot curing process with high shear strength insulating adhesive. After integrated outer circle precision grinding, the whole magnet assembly has excellent structural stability, no delamination under long-time high-speed operation and temperature cycling.
