Q:How Much Resin Will I Need To Wet Out This Aramid Based Fabric?

For wet-lay lamination you will use a bit more resin than the weight of the fabric. A typical fiber resin ratio for Aramid based fabrics is 45/55. For example, with a 300gsm cloth, for 1 square metre you will have 300g of fabric and thus will need 367g of resin to wet it out plus a small amount of wastage for the brush and mixing pot.

Aramid and Diolen laminates can be drilled into using a HSS drill bit designed for drilling steel. Start with a pilot hole and work up the diameter until the desired hole size is achieved. Any aramid/diolen fluff can be cut off with a sharp stanley blade or scalpel.
