No. The vacuum interrupter is only the core arc-extinguishing component of a 12kV vacuum circuit breaker. It has no independent driving structure and cannot realize opening/closing actions by itself. Its contact movement must be driven by the operating mechanism of a matched vacuum circuit breaker to complete circuit switching and fault breaking functions.

If the opening speed is too slow, the electric arc burning time will be extended, causing severe ablation of internal contacts and reducing the short-circuit breaking capacity. Excessively fast opening speed brings extra mechanical impact and shortens service life. Too high closing speed leads to obvious contact bounce, contact wear and even contact welding; too low closing speed results in unstable contact resistance and poor electrical connection reliability.
