Q:Can HDT and Vicat specimens be tested in one cycle?
A:
It is preferable to run one test method at a time because HDT and Vicat tests use different tools, loads and result criteria.
Q:Is the machine fully automatic?
A:
Heating control, deformation monitoring and result recording are automatic. Specimen installation, tool selection and weight loading are performed by the operator.
Q:What happens if a test is interrupted?
A:
The oil should be cooled to room temperature and the test restarted with new specimens, as continuing an interrupted test may produce inaccurate results.
Q:How should the over-temperature limit be set?
A:
It should be set above the expected test temperature but safely below the flash point of the heating medium.
