Q:How does the hydraulic elevator dam operate?

The back side is supported by two hydraulic cylinders at a small angle, powered by a hydraulic station. Hydraulic oil moves the cylinder rod to realize blocking and discharging flood.

The lifting time of a single gate is about 1 minute per meter. The lowering time can be adjusted between 30 seconds and 30 minutes.

Q:Can the water be blocked at any height?

Yes, the hydraulic elevator dam can achieve arbitrary dam high water retention.

Q:How does the dam work if sedimentation on top of its surface is more than 30 cm?

The dam is designed to withstand severe sedimentation. It can adjust up to a vertical angle of 75 degrees to wash away sedimentation. If not completely removed, the remainder is not significant enough to affect lifting or dropping.
