Important: Wear layer thickness matters more than total thickness for scratch and stain resistance.

SPC flooring uses a click lock (drop lock or angle lock) system: no glue, nails, or staples required. Steps: 1. Acclimate planks in the room for 24 to 48 hours. 2. Ensure subfloor is clean, dry, and level. 3. Lay a vapor barrier if required (though SPC is waterproof, underlayment with vapor barrier is often recommended). 4. Click planks together row by row, leaving a 5 to 10mm expansion gap around walls. 5. Install baseboards or quarter rounds to cover the gap.

Many SPC products come with a pre-attached underlayment (IXPE, EVA, or cork) for acoustic insulation and minor subfloor irregularities. If not pre-attached, use a thin foam underlayment (1 to 2mm) specifically designed for rigid core flooring. Do not use thick underlayment (e.g., 5mm and foam), as it can cause plank movement and joint breakage.

SPC flooring has a transparent wear layer that resists scratches, stains, and scuffs. Higher wear layer thickness. Better scratch resistance. Some premium products also include a ceramic bead coating for extra protection. However, no flooring is completely scratch proof to use furniture pads and avoid dragging heavy objects
