The thermal protector is a compact bimetal thermal switch designed to protect motors, transformers, pumps, fans and electrical appliances from overheating. It opens the electrical circuit when the protected component reaches the preset action temperature.

The thermal protector uses an internal bimetal element to sense temperature.
