High Tensile Composite Strapping Band Reduces Freight Damage and Waste

Composite strapping is a multi-component product consisting of high-tenacity continuous polyester (PET) filament yarns aligned in parallel, encapsulated within a tough polypropylene or polyethylene polymer jacket. This hybrid structure gives it the tensile core of polyester with the surface durability and weather resistance of the coating.

Our composite strap matches and often exceeds the working performance of steel in real-world applications. While steel has a higher theoretical breaking strength per millimeter, it has zero elasticity meaning it snaps under sudden shock loads. Composite strap's controlled elongation absorbs that shock, so in practice, secured loads stay secured longer, especially during rough road or sea transit.

We offer a full spectrum from 500 kg / 1,100 lbs for light bundling up to 2,500 kg / 5,500 lbs and beyond for heavy industrial applications. Widths typically range from 13mm to 32mm, with thicker profiles available for higher breaking loads. We can recommend the optimal spec once we know your cargo weight and transport mode.

Composite strap is designed for single-use tensioned sealing once it is friction-welded or buckled shut, the joint is permanent. However, if you use buckle-based closure systems (non-weld), the strap body can sometimes be reused for lighter subsequent applications, provided it has not been nicked or abraded. For multi-trip cargo, we recommend our reusable lashing systems instead.

Our standard composite strap performs reliably from -40C to +80C. Extreme cold slightly increases stiffness but does not cause brittleness. At sustained temperatures above 80C, consult us we offer high-temperature variants for applications like hot steel coil bundling or autoclave use.
