In many cases, yes and they offer significant advantages. Paper corner protectors are lighter, eliminate splinter hazards, require no ISPM15 treatment, and are far more cost-effective. However, for extreme heavy loads with lateral shear forces, a hybrid paper-and-wood approach may be recommended.
