Durable Hood Support Latch for Enhanced Vehicle Safety and Stability

This combined assembly has two main functions. First, the steel pin on the vertical rubber arm locks the hood prop rod to hold the engine hood open safely during inspection and repair. Second, the thick rubber buffer block acts as a hood stop, absorbing impact when closing the hood, limiting over-travel and eliminating rattling noise while driving.

It mounts symmetrically (left and right sides) on the front cab frame panel, behind the headlights and above the radiator support. The galvanized metal base bolts directly to the cab front sheet metal. When the hood is lifted, the prop rod clips onto the built-in steel pin of the latch.

1. The mounting base is thick yellow zinc-plated steel, anti-rust and adjustable via slotted holes. 2. The main body is high-density oil & heat-resistant molded industrial rubber, resistant to cracking, hardening and aging under engine heat, UV light and road salt. 3. A solid steel retaining pin is pre-installed for locking the hood prop rod.

It is an OEM replacement part compatible with International medium & heavy-duty cab-over trucks including DuraStar, 4300, 4400 series. It can also fit similar cab-over models from Kenworth and Peterbilt with matching mounting dimensions. Please check your OEM part number before purchasing.

Yes. The two elongated slots on the galvanized base allow horizontal position adjustment during installation, which compensates for minor frame assembly deviations and makes alignment much easier than fixed-hole brackets.
