Q:What is the difference between moisture-proof MDF and ordinary MDF?

The core difference lies in adhesives and production technology. Moisture-proof MDF is added with special moisture-proof resin and hydrophobic additives, with waterproof-treated fibers, delivering excellent moisture resistance and anti-expansion performance. Ordinary MDF uses common urea-formaldehyde glue with poor moisture resistance, which is prone to water absorption, swelling, delamination and deformation in humid environments.

Q:Is moisture-proof MDF waterproof? Can it be soaked in water directly?

It is not fully waterproof but only has excellent moisture resistance. It can resist air humidity, slight water splashes and ambient moisture, but long-term soaking or continuous water accumulation is not allowed. For scenarios with long-term water contact, waterproof finishing or paint coating is recommended, or replace it with boards with better waterproof performance.

Q:Does the green color mean the board is moisture-proof? Does darker color indicate better moisture resistance?

Green is only an industrial identification color added during production, which has no connection with moisture resistance or quality grade. The moisture-proof performance depends on thickness swelling rate, raw material formula and test reports, not color depth.

Q:Where is moisture-proof MDF applicable?

Widely used for indoor cabinets in humid areas, including kitchen cabinets, balcony cabinets, bathroom dry-area vanity cabinets, ground-floor furniture, home decoration in plum rain areas of southern China, and partitions & display cabinets in commercial humid environments.
